About The Fat Kid & The Old Broad

Hello.  I'd like to explain a bit to you about this blog.  See, it isn't really for you, it's for us - The Fat Kid (that's me) and The Old Broad (that's my mom).  We are a couple of southern girls who are a bit on the pudgy side.  And we have decided to do something about it.  We have decided to start the Women's Fitness Running Program for Beginners.  See, I like to be shape, I'm just lazy.  And my Mom used to be in shape, but she is lazy too.  So now we're a fat kid and an old broad and we have to do something about that!  To give you an idea of what we are up against, let me give you our stats:

In the blue corner, we have "The Fat Kid," 36 years old, smokes a pack of cigarettes a day, weighs in at 145+, stands 5'3" tall.  In the red corner, we have "The Old Broad," at 65 years old, 155+ pounds, and 5'5". Okay, ladies touch gloves and come out running!

(Heh, I thought maybe we sounded a little less lazy and fat if you could imagine my announcer voice. Did it work??) We were brainstorming about how we could get in a shape that wasn't quite so cylindrical, and we decided that we would take up running.  Yep, just like that - from too lazy to move to runners.  But it isn't really that easy we found out.  So we looked on the web and found the Women's Fitness program.  Today, Monday, June 21, I begin with Day 1.  The Old Broad is starting tomorrow.  This is going to be our way of keeping each other honest. We are more than just checking in with each other - or reporting or activity to each other.  We are putting it out there, for all of Blogland to see and read.  So hang on to your arm fat girls, this is going to be an interesting ride!
